In January of 2013, our Franchise Marketing Company bailed
Villa La PAWS Franchising took a blow when our marketing company bailed on us because of their financial condition in January of 2013.
We decided to take our Franchise Marketing internal and focus on quality leads versus quantity and by re-aligning our staff and their priorities.
Since we took our Franchise Marketing back internal, we had generated a sincere interest from a potential franchisee Michael Sinko and Linda Toogood from Cherry Hill New Jersey.
They came to Phoenix for Discovery Day in January of 2013 and we spent 3 days getting to know each other, working in the resort and a little golfing too. Of course our Chamber of Commerce weather didn’t cooperate, it was unseasonably cold and rainy but that didn’t stop them from enjoying their visit.
They signed their Franchise Agreement on February 2013 and began their search for a Villa La PAWS Resort & Spa location. After researching, evaluating and negotiating, a
location was found in Maple Shade NJ. Mike and Jackie Bernardi, his Resort Manager, traveled to Phoenix for training at Villa La PAWS on Shea.
The build out for the Maple Shade Resort lasted the summer and on September 14th, Villa La PAWS Resort & Spa in Maple Shade NJ, opened its doors! This was called our “soft opening”. We had Phoenix Staff there training the staff in Maple Shade and greeted new customers daily. Once we had all staff trained, procedures in place and working well, we were
ready for the Grand Opening that was held on October 28th, 2013.
What a day, the Maple Shade Mayor and a multitude of City dignitaries attended as well as over 500 people toured and welcomed Villa La PAWS with open arms.
Again I believe there was some divine
intervention that brought Mike and Linda to Villa La PAWS. Not only are they our first franchise but they have also become great friends and real partners.
They are experiencing much success in a very short amount of time and we are excited to be a part of their future.
