The common thread between all Villa La PAWS team members is our deep love, reverence, and understanding of companion animals. Many of our current Resort staff have veterinary experience, many participate in pet rescue and foster programs, and some even have professional animal training experience.

At Villa La PAWS, we carefully select and train each of our resort personnel to ensure the best possible care for our customer’s animal companions. All PAWS associates receive free tuition and automatic enrollment for our exclusive PAWS UNIVERSITY, an extraordinary program that develops proficiency in the areas of management, operations, and dog-handling.

For our customer’s peace of mind, all PAWS associates are bonded and insured which means they undergo a rigorous background checks by ADP Screening Services to ensure they have no prior felonies and have a solid credit record.

Being great with animals is the first criteria... being great with people is the next. We hire only service-minded people who strive to earn the right to be considered an extended family member to our customers. This is extremely important since they will interact with our customer in both the good and the bad times.  

Counselors 

If you just want to pet the puppies, this job is NOT for you.  This position requires a person that is comfortable and in command of a group of 15 - 25 dogs.  The specialist must be able to:

• Understand dog behavior signs and signals and take appropriate action if necessary
• Learn and accept OUR way of ensuring and keeping a safe environment for all involved
• Be responsible and dependable to work the shifts you are assigned
• Be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Be passionate about cleaning
• Be a team player
• Be flexible to work varying shifts
• YOU will be REQUIRED to work holidays if scheduled

Candidates that have experience in the following areas will be given priority status:

• Dog Daycare/Boarding facility
• Vet Tech with 2 + years experience
• Shelters/Rescues

Groomers

We have an award winning grooming service and are always looking for that skilled professional that can bring added value to this department.

If you are a groomer and have had 2+ years of experience we want to hear from you.  You must be flexible in your work days and hours and have your own equipment. 

You will be required to groom a minimum of two (2) dogs during your interview process.  Being a team player is an absolute must and customer service skills are definitely required. 

This skilled position qualifies for our Training/Job Program.  Villa La PAWS management will enroll a person into the Training/Job Program that they feel have the character traits, passion and commitment to succeed in this program.

Trainers

Our Paws University's, PAWS Training Academy seeks out experienced dog trainers with solid references. A Villa La PAWS Trainer is responsible for delivering quality, result based training for:

• In-House Classes
• In-House Private Classes
• Distance Learning Classes (via the Internet using VLP Technology)
• Distance Learning Private Classes (via the Internet using VLP Technology)

The Villa La PAWS Trainers are also an important part of our VLP staff training program. You may be required to participate in staff training programs.  Our Trainers are also required to perform demonstrations of their skills at promotional events.
