PAWS Canine Academy
In addition, PAWS University provides pet educational seminars and classes for the general public for a nominal charge. The seminars focus on important topics associated with pet ownership including behavior warning signs and the steps they need to take to personally to alleviate or confront them. Attendees have the opportunity to engage in discussions with professional trainers, subject matter experts and animal governing agencies.
The seminars are precursors to formalized classes that the general public can attend will be priced depending on the course and the instructor. Topics include:
- Dealing with Behavioral Problems
Learn how to answer those often asked questions about housebreaking, mouthing, biting, chewing and jumping.
- Dealing With Puppies
Learn how to begin training your puppy the day you bring him home. Learn the true needs of your puppy and how to avoid potential behavior problems in the future.
- Understanding Calming Signals
General Public including those who don’t own dogs or those who encounter dogs on a regular basis. This seminar is also great for Shelters and Clinics. Learn how to read and use calming signals to help calm down nervous, frightened or aggressive dogs. A must class for anyone who deals with dogs on a regular basis.
- Understanding Dog Behavior
Covering dog/dog interaction and dog/human interaction that every human needs to know. Learn how to understand what your dog is really saying and doing. Dogs are always communicating whether it is with you, a stranger or another dog. No longer misinterpret your dogs behavior that keeps him from having his needs met.
- Curing the Anxious Dog
Is your dog nervous or anxious when encountering new situations like loud noises? Going to the vet? When a dog approaches? When a stranger approaches?
